This shirt was created for Danville Fashion Week with the 2024 theme Dan River Runs Deep: focusing on Danville, VA and the city's rich textile history!

Dan River Inc. built the White Mill in Danville, Virginia in 1920, and it operated from 1921 to 1996. The mill was one of the last remaining examples of Danville's textile-manufacturing history, and it was designed in a Gothic Revival style by Lockwood, Greene & Company.

The Plaid pattern on this design is from one of the original Dan River Fabrics.

 

The Danville Icons Project:
Proceeds of this sale go to help House of Hope: an emergency homeless shelter serving the City of Danville, Virginia and the surrounding area. For over 10 years, House of Hope has provided safe refuge to those who don’t have a place to stay.
